At a banquet, Mark Twain sat across from a lady and politely said, “You are truly beautiful!”
The lady, unappreciative, arrogantly replied, “Too bad I can’t say the same about you!”
Mark Twain calmly remarked, “That’s alright; you can just tell a little lie like I did.”
The lady felt ashamed and lowered her head.
